Check battery voltage. If battery voltage is low some things wont work, heated screen will not switch on if voltage is not high enough to confirm the alternator is charging. You might have a weak battery or failing alternator. Also check earth connections, the one on the gearbox has been known to come loose and cause odd electrical problems.

The airbag system relies on a network of sensors to detect a crash and deploy the airbags.
