You can save the destination address to your list of places before doing the route, then do the route each time you want to start. This is the most work, but allows flexibility in starting point. You can do the route, then touch the 3 vertical dots and share the route to your device via e-mail or other option (text directions can be used offline). This has been fixed for the upcoming release of BaseCamp. For now, you can use a 3rd party tool to convert the KML to GPX, then import the gpx into BaseCamp. Or you can break your route up into smaller segments in google maps, then export the KML.
Google Maps also provides driving instructions to the trailheads. I have tried loading my Strava GPX onto a file, then using A program (called ITconverter) to change the GPX file into a KML file. But when I import the KML into Google Maps I get at least 9 pages of tracks and waypoints.

View Your Export Confirmation. You'll then see a confirmation that the export is processing in the Export Progress box. This confirms the number of items you selected to export and offers a "Cancel Export" option if you change your mind. You can also click "Create Another Export" if you want to obtain any remaining items.
