The oil change interval depends on how much you drive the motorhome. 3-5000 miles is a safe interval for a normal vehicle, 6 months is good for a vehicle that isn't used much. You didn't say what year the motorhome is, or whether the engine is a 2 valve or 3 valve engine. Recommended oil can be 5w-20 or 5w30.
Here's an example of what Ford recommends for the 2018 diesel powered Ford F-150 oil change interval. Normal conditions: 7,500 - 10,000 miles (1 year) Moderate towing, idling: 5,000 - 7,000 miles (6 months) Heavy towing, extensive idling: 3,000 - 5,000 miles (3 months) Also, Ford explicitly says NOT to exceed 10,000 miles or 1 year of driving
Although generic, the exact repair steps may vary depending on year, make, model and powertrain configuration. OBD-II trouble code P253F is associated with the engine oil quality. Specifically, this code indicates that the engine oil's quality is degraded to the point where it requires changing. Mazda has this to say about the code:

Try one of the Ford forums, but yes they need fluid & filter every 3 years, and cost about £250. The fluid is about £13-£20 a litre depends on where you get it, but I've no idea how much goes in. I should imagine that you can do it yourself, try and get a download of the service manual, or pay for one of those eBay CDs to find out how to do
