14 January 2009 at 8:55PM. The 1.8 TDCi engines in the Focus used to have problems with the DMF (dual mass flywheel) too. Symptoms to look out for are a massive vibration when trying to start the car coupled with a metallic squeak. Try and imagine someone coughing in a high pitched voice! Hi Everyone. I drive an 05 Focus 1.6 LX TDCi with 82K on the clock. I was coming home round the M25 when the car lost its accelerating power, barely hitting 60mph. A mobile mechanic diagnosed a faulty injector which he then replaced. But the car is still suffering from poor acceleration & str Ford Model: Focus 2.0 TDCi Titanium Ford Year: or some really positive symptoms, no diagnosis is possible. EGR problems did not put my car into limp mode, but did hi mate , ive had the exact same problem previously. out of sheer desperation and complete madness i spent a fortune on a new turbo and pipes and a good clean out of all the feeds etc. this didnt help so i asked a mechanic and he said , have you tried the boost pressure regulator? i went to my local ford dealer and they wouldnt sell me one on its own without the turbo and kit which was nearly Thing is I bought my first ever Ford Fiesta 1.4TDCI 2004 reg a couple of months ago and I seem to be having problems with it! When i bought the car it had a problem with lack of power! I thought itl be an easy fix so I (first checked the Turbo if it had play which it slightly did but not enough to cause such a lack of power) put some redex in
However - I know that on Focus1.6tdci there has been a lot about turbo failure and then when turbo replaced it fails again. As the failure is caused by lack of oil to turbo bearings. And the cause of that is the oil feed pipe to turbo being gunged up.
1. Failure to Boost. One of the common problems associated with the Ford Ranger 2.2 turbo actuator is failure to boost. When the turbo actuator fails to control the turbocharger’s speed, the engine may experience a loss of power. This may result in a sluggish performance, slow acceleration, and reduced fuel efficiency.
4. Ford Model: mondeo tdci mk4. Posted May 6, 2011. Hi all, just purchased at auction a late 2007 mk4 mondeo tdci edge 125bhp. In the auction house the car started and drove through fine with no smoke or undue noise (i was alongside it when it started and it was cold)It has less than 80k with a full ford history last serviced in December. Causes Causes of the OBD-II code P0216. The most frequent cause of this code is a bad injection pump due to poor fuel delivery. Fuel delivery problems could be: A plugged diesel fuel filter An in-tank blockage Air in the fuel due to a cracked in-tank fuel ine above the fuel level Bad transfer (lift) pump Injection pump out of time.

Symptoms of a Failing Wastegate. Stress caused by an aging turbocharger or by a motorist increasing boost pressure from the turbocharger can overwhelm the spring that opens the wastegate at a specified pressure. In these case, the wastegate will flutter because the spring cannot keep the gate fully shut. The boost will oscillate and the engine
1. Visibly worn pulleys. One of the first symptoms of an issue with an idler pulley is visible wear on the pulley. Over time, as the pulley spins against the belt, both components will eventually start to wear. This may lead to visible scoring marks on the surface of the pulley, as a result of contact with the belt.
